Signs and symptoms of pregnancy vary from person to person. They can be observed from the third week of the last menstrual period. The intensity of these signs can be severe or sometimes the lucky few do not feel them. During pregnancy the body is going through lot of changes-one of them is hormonal changes. That is why the following signs and symptoms of pregnancy can be observed in women.

Signs and Symptoms of Pregnancy

Missed Period:

Missed period is a usual sign and symptom of pregnancy. If bleeding starts on the same day of your period but bleeding is very less than usual then it can be a sign of pregnancy. Bleeding can occur due to implantation of embryo in uterus.

Sore Breasts:

Breasts may become very tender, swollen and large. The nipples may get darkened. The size of nipples may increase. The body is preparing breasts for breastfeeding. Sleeping in jogging bra would help in lessening tenderness of breasts.

Nausea:

Nausea is a very common sign and symptom of pregnancy. It can occur as early as in the first week after ovulation. Many women feel sick early in the morning. Sometimes they vomit frequently. This is commonly known as Morning Sickness. But nausea can be felt at any time of the day. Nausea can disappear after the 12th week of pregnancy. Sometimes some women feel nauseated throughout their pregnancy.

Frequent Urination and Constipation:

The uterus starts to enlarge for the coming pregnancy. The enlarging uterus starts putting pressure on bladder and on bowels. Consequently constipation or frequent urination occurs. When there is a need to go for urination, then go to toilet immediately. Holding urine for long time can cause infection. It may be harmful for your baby.

Dizziness:

Feeling dizzy is also a common sign and symptom of pregnancy. Dizziness or fainting occurs due to hormonal changes in the body.

Feeling of Tiredness and Sleepiness:

During pregnancy body is undergoing lots of hormonal changes. The increase in amount of HCG level makes you tired or sleepy. The early pregnancy phase is very critical as embryo is developing rapidly. Taking enough rest is advisable.
